Cybersecurity in Finance

Financial institutions are among the most targeted organizations in the world. From community banks and credit unions to wealth management firms, fintech companies and accounting organizations—businesses handling sensitive financial data face an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape.
Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue. It has become a business continuity concern, a regulatory requirement, a customer trust imperative, and a competitive advantage.
As cybercriminals become more sophisticated and attack surfaces continue to expand through cloud applications, remote work, mobile devices, and third-party integrations—financial organizations need more than reactive support. They require strategic technology guidance, proactive security monitoring, and a layered defense strategy designed to protect critical assets.
LBMC Technology Solutions helps financial organizations strengthen their operations through comprehensive Managed IT Services, TechCare® and TechSecure® solutions—helping businesses improve security, support compliance requirements and build resilience against evolving cyber threats.

The Shiny New Toy

AI has become the shiny new toy in the business world. It’s dominating the conversation, from boardrooms and industry conferences to the news and everyday life. Organizations are eager to get AI projects moving, and understandably, no one wants to miss the bandwagon.
I share that excitement. In fact, I’m steering my own career toward AI security and governance because AI has changed, and will continue to change, how we work, live and play. The rapid growth of AI, and more importantly the speed at which people are adopting it, will have a more profound impact on our daily lives than the PC or the internet did. Research from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis found that nearly 40% of U.S. adults had used generative AI within two years of ChatGPT’s launch, roughly double the internet’s adoption rate at the same point. But as a CISSP, one question keeps coming back to me: in the race to become an “AI company,” how do we make sure security, privacy, intellectual property rights and governance keep pace?
It’s a question worth asking early, because it’s much easier to build these protections in from the start than to add them later.

Combating the Rising Threat of Cybersecurity in Healthcare

Cybercriminals have been going after the healthcare industry more lately, taking advantage of how dependent today’s healthcare organizations are on digital systems and requirements to maintain patient data privacy. Due to the sensitive nature of the data and healthcare organization’s need to stay online, cyberattacks are especially likely to happen in the healthcare field.

These attacks can steal private patient information, stop business and cause tremendous financial losses, both for healthcare organizations and patients whose data is compromised. The Nashville Business Journal recently highlighted the alarming trend of hackers demanding Bitcoin ransoms from healthcare providers, detailing how important it is to have strong cybersecurity measures right away.

When Outside Cybersecurity Experts Give You the Edge Over In‑House IT

These days, cyber risk changes too quickly for most teams inside an organization to keep up. Today’s organizations have to deal with the same threats as global corporations, but they don’t always have the same staff, cash, or specific knowledge. When hiring outside cybersecurity experts, what Managed IT and Managed Security services can do for you, and how strategic jobs like vCIOs and vCISOs improve both security and business alignment are all covered in this guide.
